My late uncle left a 1970 two door Torino GT Sportroof. From the VIN I know that it's a V4 429. It has black louvers and a shaker hood setup. It's an automatic with a bench seat. I need to sell it on behalf of the estate heirs and need help valuing it.
It has one repaint, no body repair or rust that I can find, looks very straight with gaps at least equal to the factory, very good to excellent chrome except very minor pitting on door handles, matching numbers engine and transmission but out of car, 75 K miles and is red with a white bench interior in very good condition. Unfortunately the tag that would list original options, trim, etc was removed probably for the repaint and I haven't been able to locate it yet. It has the original Wheels.
I tried Hagerty but they just give you a list of engines by horsepower and displacement and no choices for model or options that I can find.
I live in northeastern Ohio (Akron-Cleveland area) and so far haven't been able to find anyone who can appraise it. If anyone can give me a lead about a possible appraiser, or if anybody wants to take a guess at what the value might be, I'd appreciate it. Thanks everybody!

PS--It will come with a 460 that my uncle built and test ran but wasn't able to install due to deteriorating health. He was a professional mechanic who like to wedge in the largest displacement engine he could find (eg he replaced the 427 in his vette with a 454 that will burn rubber in first and second and chirp the tires in third) and built them for maximum power.

Welcome to the forum!  I am sure we can give you an idea of the value of your car, but more information would be helpful.  Can you get the engine code from the VIN?  Can you take a photo or post the information on the door tag?  I'd also suggest posting some pictures of the car.

I'd also invest in a Marti report, so you can find out all the options the car has. A deluxe report is pretty cheap and it will give you a ton of information on the car's details.  It will also help with the sale of the car as most car buyers will want to see one.

If you need help on posting photos, follow this link:

Sorry for your loss. I have no idea of value or advice for appraising/selling your Uncle's car but would love to see photos. We all love pics. Welcome and hope you stick around. Maybe you will end up building the car.

As far as the door tag goes, they may ha e pai ted over it. The stickers that I have seen say "VOID" when peeled off.
Here is an example of what I was saying.

Thanks, everyone. A local guy who knows a lot about Torino's told me that the door ID is a metal plate, aluminum but painted black on one side. He showed me two holes in the door where it had been attached. Does this sound right? That's what I am searching my uncle's place for, as if he ever had it, it's there somewhere (though it may not have come with the car since he is not the original owner).
Either way, I have ordered a Marti report that should give me the missing info--that was a great tip so thank you!

if you are talking about the certification tag (what you have pictured) it is on the drivers door jamb on the 1/4 pillar. the metal tag is the one on the dash. (not replaceable)(legally) phred
