I bought an interesting( at least to me) daily driver for the summer.  Story behind the car was the guy totaled his 95 cobra.  He was given the Crown Vic so he decided to swap the driveline into it.  I'm not sure I believe that, but it does have GT40 3 bar heads, T5 Trans, BBK Shorty headers, Mass Air Conversion, I think Explorer intake(he called it a cobra intake), and 3.55 trac lok rearend.

It seems like it should be quicker than it is, but I guess it probably weighs over 4000lbs.

I think it's very nice. I had an '88 Grand Marquis for a daily driver some years ago. It was a great car but it definitely could have used more power.

It is a blast to bang gears in a big car, but the car is far from fast. Maybe a little on the quick side, but that is about it. It does have old school glass packs on it too.  It's pretty quiet at idle , but barks when you get on it.  Its fun leaving a light a little hard and watching people looking around to see what is making the noise and then seeing them realizing it is the crown Stick.

I'm torn on the wire wheel covers.  I do have some white walls to put on the rear, because the white wall/ black wall mix bothers me. I'm not sure if I should do that or have the front tires turned around to black walls and ditch the hubcaps all together.  Whats your opinion?

bare wheels will scream punk in a free car, blow the stealth factor

are all 4 tires good, same size, which set will need replacing 1st?

All the tires are in pretty good shape.  I have a pair of white walls that are already mounted and balanced from a parts car. So no cost to have 4 white walls.  They have a 2009 build date, but they are probably not much older than the tires on the car and have excellent tread.

It's your car, but if it were mine, I'd ditch the wire wheels for sure. I'd go more for the cop car look, dog dish caps with black walls.
This is the look I wanted to do with my old Grand Marquis (it was black too).

Men In Black hardtop with service edition nut covers works for sure :D

but the Beige Brougham vinyl kinda blows the LE look, it's got the No Threat Here vibe going on

That's awesome.  Love it.

I'd probably rock the whitewalls and spoke hubcaps, myself, for the ultimate sleeper.  Although, I think I'd go for some wider wheels and tires.

I'd think that car would run in the 14's in the 1/4 at the drag strip, thats pretty quick. if it's not in that range or seat of the pants "scat", then i'd suspect that it wasn't a cobra motor but maybe the original 5.0 with a v8 explorer (gt-40) top end. if the later is the case, it might be down a little on compression and cam then the cobra motor and might explain why its not as peppy as it should be. I think the cobra motors were like 240 hp and i hear a lot of claims that was a underated number, so who knows? does it seem like it has 3.55 gears in it? might want to check that out. Just seems like it should be quicker then what you say, of course "fast" is a personal thing. still cool as hell IMO.

The intake isn't '95 cobra, as those intakes had a elbow cast into the area where your throttle body is now, to sweep around the SN-95 shock towers.  It also has the TB on the other side, and flipping it around would poke it into your master cylinder.Big smile  Still a great combo.

Yeah, I guess that's true but I really don't like wire wheel covers. But I still think Dog dishes are an improvement even with other colours.  Look at this Crown Vic in a classic Grandma shade:

definitely different but gives me a Field Car vibe now, stealth is out the window

i had an 87 Caprice Brougham with the spoked covers, not my choice but they fit the combo. it would've been too much work involved to de-bro it and no interest on my part anyway, i just left it in Blend Mode

i hope the MiB car has the Red button?

That is an awesome combo. If I had kept the '02 Grand Marquis I owned, I was going to convert it to a 5 speed. That should be a keeper for you. Personally, I think a set of 15 X 8 steelies painted body color with the FMC poverty caps would look killer. Maybe even a set of CVPI 16 inchers?

i have a set of the period correct Turbines but Merc centers. they look better in the pics than in person,
they'd need refinishing for anything above transportation grade but the price is right LOL

I like them as well, but I've become too lazy to get down and clean every space between each rib on them, lol.

Keep the wire caps, get some 15x8 wheels and 235/70 tires, Police suspension. Go have fun.
