All I found the attached website for Waldron's Exhaust that has replacement exhaust systems for Torinos & Fairlanes in 16GA 409 stainless steel with mufflers.  They don't state that they are mandrell bends but they can upsize to 2- 1/2".  Has anyone used these guys and if so what was your experience with the product quality and fit?

Image on the site is not mandrel bent pipe.  If that is accurate to the real system, and they try to crush bend 2.5" stainless pipe to factory bend card, it will be smashed pretty good at the turn behind the muffler and over the axle..  I'd say convenient way to get stainless duals if you don't care about performance, nice to have the option, should fit ok, but upsizing won't do much except probably increase cost..

Just my thoughts, no experience with the company or the product.

Personally for classic car exhaust I find it better to find a quality exhaust shop that has a mandrel bender and does custom exhaust cause they can custom bend the pipes to fit under the vehicle and keep it tucked up nice and neat.Pretty much what it cost to buy and ship a prefabbed exhaust system you can get done for a simular price at a exhaust shop and you can check the fit before paying the bill and make sure they run the pipes and mufflers the way you want.I wouldn't trust a prefabbed exhaust on are Torino's ,especially if you use headers cause different brand headers will have the collectors fall in different positions and can have issues with trans crossmember which may require a bend in the pipe for clearence so you don't get an exhaust rattle. I also stay away from something extremely cheap cause quality isn't cheap

Waldron does excellent work, but again, it's not mandrel bent.

As stated, either a shop, a U Fit Kit, or possibly* that 73-77 GM kit.

* Hasn't been tried.

I know on the flowmaster 2.5 U fit I did, I have no complaints, but the rear, over axle area is a pain in the ass.
SPL, would be killer to see some fitment pics, those pipes look damn close to what I had to fab up with the u fit kit.

They won't be installed for a few (or more) weeks.  Temp'd in driver's side (can't do passenger side because stock single 2" is still there):

Layed them out in the driveway today.  They're very close to working perfectly.  I may have to tweak the drivers side muff just a little (portion of pipe in front of axle is on a slight angle, towards center of car going forward, causing rear of pipe to point inward out the back.  It's probably due to mfg it off slightly).  I measured across - 51" @ last bend, w/ std summit 3" x pipe un-cut, and flowmaster 3"-2 1/2" cones.  Mufflers are summit turbo offset in center out (reverseable).  X pipe is set so that front of it fits nicely in the crossmember.   I also measured center of tail exit to center of tail exit on car is about 51" also.  Again, this is un-tweaked, un clamped laying on the ground.  Exhaust installation will be sometime in december hopefully.

SPLHUAR, I'm very interested also in this tailpipe application as well, if you were able to get them finished, how'd they turn out?
FWIW, if anyone wants to go this route, Discountexhaustsystems.com have the same Flowmaster tailpipe kit #15817 for only $99.22! I purchase some 3" Dynomax Ultraflo's about a month ago for $49.43 ea. Good prices and fast shipping. Todd

1/2 way done w/ passenger side header, driver's side is (finally) done.  Then 400/c6 out, 429/ Galaxie toploader 3 speed in (including building a clutch pedal and zbar, etc). Then exhaust.
I work full time days 8-5, mon-fri, plus four 10pm-7am shifts per week at walmart.  Time and sleep are at a premium.  All work is done on lunch break (1/2hr-45mins at a time).
Looking at the drivers-side pipe closer, it's 2 pieces of pipe welded just behind the axle.  I'll probably need to grind that weld out and re-aim the back portion of the tail pipe several degrees.  Idk if it's a quality issue or a a-g body issue.  Passenger side is way closer to working as is, but won't know if it's close enough to work for a while.

btw, still need to cut out/weld in that roof section that I bought from you several years ago psquare

started with these (1 pair of each)

Got both sets off of ebay, $20 for the 5111's (picked them up locally) and $5 (plus shipping) for the 12560's.  cut them all up, started w/ the flowtech flanges and started adding pieces, one tac at a time.  pics of passenger side to follow soon

could never get a handle on the brake issue..Dead Undrivable because of it. Between that, running hot, alignment issues, exhaust issues... I put exactly 30 miles on it since you've seen it.

then bought the gray Cougar..... then got my truck back together....... then bought a house....... then......then.......

I stuffed it at my parents house for now. Maybe I'll start it this summer. Ermm

That sucks.  Too many projects?  I did the Mark V brakes on mine.  Fronts first, ran around w/ non matching wheels for a while till the rear blew (always leaked alot, I got tired of putting more oil in it after 4 years).  They work somewhere between pretty good and very good.  Much better than the origional 10 1/2" fronts and drum rears, almost as good as my wife's car (2009 Kia Borrego).  That thing'll stand on its nose when you get on them hard!  Ill probably upgrade to a dual diaphragm booster soon (my single leaks in the winter).  My car's been overheating since I got it so I know how you feel.  Especially on the highway.  Tried alot of different things but never cured it.  It pissed water out often.  The head gasket went last summer, and I think I cracked it putting water in it, hot (i never liked the 400 anyway.  Thirsty dog).  I found out recently that they don't like to be overbored, and this one was rebuilt at some time.  When the 429 goes in, so does an F250 aluminum 2-row (about 2" thick) radiator, and soon after (like in 2 years?) I'll be adding a Ford Windstar dual electric fan and a Taurus alternator.  Front end (while it's down) is getting new lower ball joints, s10 blazer springs, dirt track bilstein shocks, and some geometry revisions.  Rear is getting matching bilsteins, and im going to cut the lower control arm brackets off of the old rear and weld them to the new one, extending them down about 2" (free-ish south-side machine mod). I always do my own alignments.

Yeah, pretty much. Truth be told, we had that hurricane blow through here last fall. I left it outside, figuring it'd solve my problems one way or another. Ouch Pedal is SUPER DUPER sensitive and soft, where if I tap it, the fronts lock and the rears are just sort of along for the ride. I can only stand so much brake fluid and swap so many masters, calipers, prop valves and hard lines from good working systems before I say I quit. That's where I stopped in 2009. Whenever a buddy mechanic/SAE guy comes down, it always ends with "man, that's weird". and still non driveable. Already spent $200 on one of those guys. I need a real shop.

Truck is getting sent out this April for a vibration I can't track down. There goes my tax return, and any fun money I had for the white Cougar. I've had it since 2005, and it's been registered since 2006. maybe 200 miles, total. Clap Depending how the truck goes at this custom shop, the Cougar may go there to finish it off. I'm just tired of looking at yard ornaments.

Of course, the gray 77 I own is just a great daily driver, and I think it laughs at me whenever I use it and drive by my parents place. Hindsight what it is 6 years later , I wish I just bought this and never bothered with the other car at all. It's just a money pit, and a nice garage ornament that my friends and I talk about.

Oh well. Sorry for the angry thread jack. Sleepy
