I'm a first time Torino owner from south Alabama, but have been a Ford guy for nearly 40 years. Most of my builds have been early. 64.5 - 73 Mustangs, 65 Comets, Early Broncos, F100 trucks and 73-79 4X4's.

I picked up a 68 GT formal top/roof a few months ago. It's a clean, basically rust free, 289/2bbl/auto car that had to have been from out west, based on the lack of rust and the DOD sticker on the windshield. The car had no motor or transmission when I bought it, but the wiring hadn't been butchered either. I picked up a 289/C4 from a 68 Mustang a few weeks ago and it had everything from the fan, alternator, PS pump, all brackets, complete to the transmission lines that matched perfect to the aftermarket radiator I installed. It was definitely worth the 12 hr round trip drive to get everything you need in one shot.

My goal for the car is to convert to a 4 speed. I already have the correct toploader and shifter, and I have a late model ('88) 306 roller motor with AFR aluminum heads, '71 connecting rods, TRW forged flat tops, windage tray and full balanced assy. I need to round up a set of pedals and will probably install a hydraulic clutch. I still have to come up with the correct flywheel and make sure everything works with the Lakewood scatter shield. My first purchase was a set of Torq Thrust D wheels.

Welcome to the forum!  It sounds like your bring a wealth of experience.  Your new Torino looks really nice, and with the 306 roller and toploader it will be a really cool ride. We'd love to follow along your projects, so feel free to start a project thread.

It's 24X24, and building a 12X24 lean to off the back to keep my Bronco. If this was 25 years ago, it would be way too small. I would need room to take on 2-3 projects for other folks. I used to be a pack rat, but I learned to live much more frugal as I've grown older. The only thing going in the shop is the Torino and my tools. I have two sb motors I'm going to store under the work benches, and one toploader. I'm designating the 18X24 portion to the car, only. The 12X12 pad on the front is also going to be very helpful when I just need to pull up and not need the whole shop area.

Very nice.  Just imagine what it would have been like if we were that smart when we were young.

Nice shop and that is a really cool Bronco too. My favourite Broncos are the 78 to 79 trucks.

Still have a lot left to do, but I won't have to work on the ground again. Ceiling and lights are next, then the walls insulated and covered. I can stop and take a breather on my weekends now that I can keep it in them out of the weather. Still gotta build the lean to for the Bronco. Only thing staying in the shop is the Torino and tools. Hope to be posting some updates on the build by late summer.

Love seeing shops. I am going to price materials and keep dreaming for now. Yours is coming along nicely.
