Hello everyone. My name is David Nylander and I live in Commerce, Ga. Home of the NHRA Southern Nationals. I have recently started a project that I have wanted since high school. (I will turn 50 on November30,2020) A 1972 Gran Torino Sport. Sort of. I have bought 3 vehicles to bring this to reality. First was a 1973 Grand Torino Sport roller with a good bit of rust. Then I scored the engine from a motor home that a tree fell on. The E350 came with a 460 and C6 transmission which was transplanted into car. Last but not least was a complete 1972 Gran Torino (standard roof) with little rust and a straight body. The front clip was swapped in favor of the 1973 front clip. I have driven the car and it runs great but now comes the long process of replacing rusted body parts and cosmetics. I know I am in the right place to get help and information to bring this car closer to it’s former glory.

Welcome to the forum David. I'm fairly new here myself. Did you swap the 73 front to the car 72 yourself ? I bet that 460 swap makes the car fun to drive ! Enjoy the forum. Nice folks and excellent info here. J.

Welcome, and enjoy the project. I've got two 73's, one with a 72 front end and one that I might want to put a 72 onto to sell eventually. Did you save the front frame horns(bumper mount parts)?
