I just got done with a 302 to 351W swap on my 78 bird. I'm using a 2 pin temp sender that was in the 302 and the original half round connector. After break in I've found the gauge not working and I'm pretty sure it's the sender. It's open to both pins when I check the resistance on it. The thing is I can't find a two pin temp sender anywhere (napa online etc). I have two single pin senders on other motors and my parts car. I suppose I could adapt the single pin but, I'm just confused as to what this two pin sender is. Any thoughts out there in Ford land?? Is this a one off bastardized part?

My 79 has the same connector. | I don't know either. I have a complete set of1978 ford FSMs and they don't show it like it is on the car.I'll try some more research.thanks for the info so far. 😊 |

Well, I wasn't able to find a two pin switch anywhere. So, I stuck the single pin in it. I had to connect the sensor wire to the harness red wire and the yellow harness wire to ground and the gauge works fine. S, I guess the other pin on the sensor was for ground. Odd.
