Subject: Turn Signal Won't Lock Up/Right

Hello all!  I have a 1971 Torino 500.  She's a mess, but I'm getting around to some stuff.  The turn signal lever will not lock up/right, but will down/left.  When up, I hear the blinker noise, but the right arrow doesn't light up.  That's probably just the bulb, as no other lights really work on the gauges.

My question is, is this the part that I need to fix it?

Thanks for your help!

On my 75 wagon the turn signals stay locked both up and down, but it doesn't click back off after the turns.  Any ideas??

Yes Johnny. I have to manually disengage the turn signal.

IIRC there is a small plastic sleeve thing with a cam bump on it that goes on the steering shaft that disengages them... it's missing or the plastic curved ears are broken on the turn signal switch! did it suddenly do this or only after a steering wheel change???

Its been that way ever since I've had it. I need to replace the bulb for the PRD12 indicator so I may just tackle the turn signal issue as well.

Thanks for the help and I'll post my findings once it's done. Wink
