Hello All, I just recently purchased a good condition (running) 1973 Gran Torino. I picked it up in Arizona and just got it back to California. I am beyond excited to start working on it. I will post a current picture as soon and I figure out how to do so. |

Hello all, Thank you for the welcome! I've always wanted a Classic Ford, but I had never actively searched for one. I just happened to take a small road in Arizona a couple of weeks ago when I was leaving the MVD and I slammed on my breaks when I saw the GT parked outside of a shop, staring at me. Much to my surprise it was for sale. I went home and thought about it and had to go back for it. It was fate. My 73 Gran Torino is a 2 door Formal top Coupe. With a 302 under the hood. It has EVERYTHING original. I'm talking chrome trim pieces, weather strip, windshield wipers, emblems, even the Canada Maple leaf sticker on the inside of the door from the Oakville, Ontario plant where it was produced. It even has the original Torino floor mats. It is a faded Navy blue with black vinyl interior and Black vinyl roof. The interior is in good condition, but the roof is a bit rusted and the vinyl is rotted. Upon closer inspection the original color was a royal blue which I will change it back to with the black top. Based on the condition of the car I'm guessing it was owned by 1 or two people, possibly snowbirds who brought it down to Arizona. The guy I bought it from bought it at an auction in Kingman, Az. But I'll let you know when I track down some more information. |
