Hello , I can say newbie here , Always had some questions maybe some one can answer . Have a 1974 Gran Torino . Sure like the 1972 and 73 sport hood with the hood scoop on them and wonder if a 72 or 73 hood would fit on my 74 if I should ever find one . Second is would a front clip off a 1975 cougar fit a 74 gran torino ? The 74 Gran Torino has that big plastic grill where the Cougar's I think is metal but not sure .

72 is the only year that the scoop was on the gts hood. It is a 1 year only hood, will not bolt onto your 74. Some folks have taken the scoop section from a 72 hood and grafted to a 74-76 hood. That would be your only option. ------------- Jeff 71 Torino Brougham 72 Gran Torino Squire |

^^^ yes what jeff said!! the cougar profile body lines are different! won't line up with the torino's body lines at the door!

the frame horns where the 1972 bumper mounts are 1 year only, 1972 the 73 uses 5 mph impact absorbers where the 72 is solid mounted, different frame it's been done more than a couple times, get a set of 72 frame horns and weld them on then the complete 72 doghouse fits the 73 body shell next problem is the availability of good 72 sheet metal, being 1 year only it's hard to find the 72 grill trim alone is crazy money would you be good with a 73 bumper tuck and hood graft? ------------- 72 GT Ute |
