Allright, I understand all this, but if you lift up a carpet and you can see a frame of your car is this still a slight issue or you are in trouble?

If you can still see frame you have a small problem. If you don't see frame and you should...big problem.

In south Florida, if you buy a rust-free car, the rust is issued at the DMV along with your tag...

I think this car originally came from Ohio or something like that. Not sure on the full history. There is an old beach pass sticker on the windshield for a beach near Daytona. That salt in the air is worse than Northern cars in winter. :(

hmmm DMV issues rust down there? most other places "rust free" means... if you buy the car there's no extra charge for the rust! but i think those metallic flakes in the paint are "rust seeds" issued by ford

One of my high school buddies had an old cupboard door over the missing rear floor in his 68ish Sedan de Ville. Great for disposing of empty "Root Beer" bottles.

If that's your video, you should post about your Torino build here. We'd all love following your progress on this Torino. On the rust thing, my Uncle used to have a '58 Pontiac Pathfinder (Canadian model). The rear floor was completely rusted out, so he used old garbage can lids to cover up the holes. He said his buddies used to lift up the lids while driving to "relieve themselves" after while cruising around drinking "root beers."

I found that a hole in the rear pan of a '72 wagon makes for a great alternative for passengers needing to void enroute. Much faster than stopping at a rest area...

I saw this Ford on CL. Owner states that the frame has rust in some areas, but that a replacement frame is included and the body can be transferred onto it. I'd be afraid that the body would fold up when you lifted it.

It's me! I could try that. The problem is, I have such little time and money right now. Christmas was my first day off in 113 days. I document my "progress" in my video series called "Torino Time."

It's one of the series that I do. It's my first carbureted engine, and I'm seriously learning as I go, which I why I joined this forum. So, don't bash me too much! :)
PS: This does not reflect the body shop I co-own (Winter Park Paint and Collision). I mostly own stake in the company, and do the video work for them. I don't do the work.
