Hi Guys!
I'm just changing my turn signal switch. How do I get this steering column shroud of? It looks like this:

...and consists of 2 parts, but without screws.
That means they have to be clipped somehow.

I'm also looking for the right turn signal switch for my 72 gran torino.
Mounted in my car behind a standard 2 spoke steering wheel is this one:

This would, however, according to my research of a 71er be.
I have only ever found the one for the 72 model with this layout here:

Which is the right one now? Confused

One more question about the horn. Currently only one horn is installed and I want to switch to a 2-tone horn. One for high pitch and one for low pitch. I could not find any relay. Is no relay installed in the 72er? Can I just switch to 2 horns without an relay?
My rim blow button for the horn does not work properly and the original part is too expensive for me. Therefore, I want to install a small switch behind the steering wheel pad on the left and right of the 2-spoke steering wheel pad. How many amps does a horn draw normally or 2 horns? So that I can get a suitable switch, which is sufficiently dimensioned. Is a 3 amps switch sufficient?

Thanks a lot for your help!Big smile
Best greetings from over the big pond from Austria!

the plastic collar has 2 screws and it clips together but there are 2 plastic pegs on the end that slide off...one section slides off of the other. go easy and slow the pegs get messed up easy

the switch in the rock auto pic looks correct

the horns on these cars don't use a relay, they have positive power in and positive power out.
as far as duel horns there's a jumper wire that feeds both horns, it plugs into your single horn wire at the horn btw i have that wire Wink

There are no screws. I have already tried to slide off. Then I'll take a closer look at it again. Wacko

Although I'm still unsure, since this one of the 71er looks more like mine......

....but I will order the turn signal switch from the '72 and hope that it will work. Wink

So only a cable from the positive connection from the first horn to the positive connection of the second horn is placed?
Great John, then I would be interested in the cable! Thumbs Up Send you a pm.

yes if you have 1 horn, unplug the connector at the horn the jumper wire plugs into your wire, 1 connector on it plugs onto 1 horn, the other connector plugs onto the second hornWink
