Subject: HELP! where can I find these??

I need the gasket that goes between the headlight buckets and the front fenders.

I also need the Nylon (plastic) bumpers (white) that goes behind the headlight buckets, and
the nylon inserts (black plastic nuts) that the chrome trim screws into. I will need adjusters
and springs, but I figure I can find those.

If anyone knows where to buy these things I surely would appreciate it. I have looked everywhere. Dearborn/ AK/ etc. All the Mustang shops, etc. etc.

Thanks,

Jim

I don't remember an rubber gaskets betweent the headlight extensions and the fenders,I thought they were just bolted together. I will have to check the extension from my 73 formal parts carb but I just gave the rightside to the guy who bought the right fender. As for the headlight fastners try recearchhing automotive clips and fastners as the body shop I use to work for had a guy come around every 2 weeks and supplied us with clips, bolts and types of autobody hardware. Try search ebay also cause I see screww kits all the time so maybe they have headlight hardware but an autobody fastner supply company should have what your looking for and I am sure there are online suppliers.

Jim I looked and your right it does have a black piece of rubber in that groove but not sure if you can get it an might have to improvise. Find some thin flat rubber with about 1/ 8-3/16th thickness and cut it down and shove it in the groove.I know it is bigg money but there is a Complete NOS set on ebay with extensions, chrome bezels, headlight buckets ,headlight rings and all the screws and hardware with the adjusters and all those plastic spaceres and everything brand new but I think the price was $299 but heck I paid $172 just for the NOS Headlight bezels. Like I said check with auto body fastener companies. You could probably take a rubber vacuam hose and split it open and stick it in the groove

you can get the gasket from any one who sells mustang parts as they come in long strips that form to the shape of the housing

I know Jim but Starsky Torino said to check the Mustang suppliers as they sell it in strips and read you checked them so was asking for a link

I'll try and dig up an old one when I get home and post. Yeah, I tried a few Mustang places with no luck. (unless I was doing something wrong)
A link would be sweet.

The little nylon sliders for the headlight buckets are the same on most Fords of the 70s.. Got any local 'yards?

None of the yards around here have any old cars. I was thinking of going to Lowes and looking. They sell "Christmas trees" for Ford, Dodge, Chevy etc. In the bolt isle. May be able to match something up that might work.

That is it. I am just wondering if these are specifically molded for  for the 70-71. There's no listing for the 72-up. How do I know these would work for the 72-up? 72 is different from 73-76 also. It can't be any more ($) to get a length of what I found and make my own.Confused

OK I contacted AK. They take there good ol' time. Here's what they said.

"These are straight pieces of rubber that are u shaped and are about 8-12 inches long.

thanks,
Brent"

From this response I'm going to assume the will work on the 72-76 as well. I will measure a 70-71 and a 72 and 73 and see if they're the same. (73-76 being the same) I will post.
Thanks for the heads up!
