What can i minimally do to my stock 1973 gran Torino with 351 windsor to bring at least 300 hp (at the wheels) I know it's a big and expensive jump but if anyone has any cheap short cuts I'd appreciate it

Aluminum heads, intake, carb, headers, cam, recurve ignition. A set of gear would help a lot too.
I'd start with a gear change, it's fairly cheap and offers good result

New high flow aluminum heads are pricey, can't get the power I want with just a new intake and carb, exhaust and cam?

Not unless you port the heads. The heads are the biggest limiter when it comes to SBF performance. You have to run a matched combo otherwise it will be pointless and you wont be very happy. In order to get 300 at the wheels you are gonna need about 400hp at the crank and that wont happen with stock heads. It will happen with a set of aluminums and the correct carb, and cam for the combo. Wink
