There are always places in teh back of Hot Rod/Rod & Custom, that say "title for any car over 10 years old, $75"

If you have a buddy in a state that doesnt need a title, he could register it there, cancel it next day, then give you the paperwork... creating a title for you.
I had to do this with my Elite some years ago, since I rescued the car from a junkyard.

So, your saying just re-register it.  and get new plates and new title..........
It already as plates and current registratiion stickers.  they expire this month though..........

Can I do that?  the car is already registered in Texas, has plates and stickers????

confused....

ah
Mine was not registered and was 'dormant' in a junkyard for 10 years.

I'd get the buddy to cancel the plates then.

lol. if you were closer, I'd probably buy it. I paid $1500 for one in worse shape from what you are saying.
