You got to check out the 75  Gran  Torino on e- bay REd on Black   with only 2,048 miles the guy  says  the original owner wanted too make a S&H car but died , he was going to do it , (the current owner) but it would be" morally wrong"  to do it to such a car.  HEY ITS WHAT HE WANTED ! all it needs is a stripe and a set of slots,  ford probably killed him when they beat him to the punch in 76 , I'd say  its morally wrong not to do it.

Lets put it to vote would this car look better as is or as a S&H clone. My 74torino 460pi looked like this and rusted as it was it still got alot of looks. My vote as is with 15 inch sloted mags and 60 series rubber.

By the way If I owned this car I would in no time put all my police parts on it . It would be a nice package.

It should remain stock. If it doesn't have the code, it shouldn't be a replica/clone/S&H anything.

Shane, you should just buy it.
And give it to me! LOL
Since it's so low mileage, if it was mine I would have a hard time painting or altering it, IMO, but it would be the buyer's choice...

I agree.  Only original once!!!  Everything people wants to do to this car would be irreversible procedures.  I say there should be at least one intact '74-'76 Torino for future generations to appreciate.  I do hope it returns to a car museum or should be bought by Ford for their heritage museum.

THAT car should have gone through Barrett-Jackson!

It is a true museum piece.
NEEDS to be in a climate control Museum so it cannot rust anymore than the surface rust it has.
DO NOT TOUCH IT! DO NOT even clean it up, ok maybe wipe it down and vacuum it out.
Hell I might not ever start and/or drive it.

I agree they are only original once, that only applies to cars like this for me though!

Check out the paint pattern in the trunk. You can see how the factory painted the inside and why the wheel well lip rots from the inside out. NO PAINT or protection is ever sprayed on the outer sheet metal from inside. It is shielded by the wheel tub lip.

My 74 torino with 460 pi engine was the same colour .For 74 the torino not gran models had a different grill and bumper. The car had 460 pi engine for that year it was rated at 268 hp. It had all the HD equipment. The differential had a nodular carrier (N case). It had electric windows, seat ,A/C, a stereo and the rare factory anti theft sysem. What I found odd if it might be a dealer option was the cragar Mach 8 wheels with poilce radials and ford marked balancing weights. It ran stock 15.1 to 15.7 sec in the 1/4 mile depending on engine tempture and how it lauched from start .Paid $ 400 for it. To bad it was a rust bucket. I scraped it 5 years later and kept all the good parts and it's waiting for a donor car . If the price is right this car could have been it . Right now I think 6 grand is the maximun that car is valued at.

That car came from a musem but it isn't There now and it isnt flawless ( steel wool on the bumppers ?)  Clones bring good money, and its the easiest clone there is.  I heard or read that all the S&H cars were really white cars that were masked off   then painted red ,  so the red wouldn't bleed thru . The vinyl deal would be great idea , probably as hard to apply as the screaming eagle on a 77 trans am.  But thats it . we have all seen the wrong cars to make a S&H , year wise and color wise , gold with the green interior ect. that car is worth 12,000 with a stripe and some slots, now only 10 . and I submit this

Only about 2k original miles!? Holy Cow! It'd be a shame to do anything but leave it as it is...especially making it a S & H car. Not to say there's anything wrong with S & H cars, but there are certainly a lot of them already and aren't that unique.

Added:
I looked at the auction on ebay and there are a lot more pictures on there. I was surprised about how many little "door dings" there are on the car. I guess even in storage or at a museum your car will get scuffed up!  Ermm

I also like  Psquare75's idea about the vinyl strip kit. I was thinking about that since advertisers cover Montreal city buses in ads. These are then taken off with no damage to the paint .

I say leave it alone.
My only difference...I would store the original wheels, and switch to a set of widened 15x8's and a set of 295/50/15's on all 4 corners...
In all honesty, leave it alone. I am all for leaving it alone.
Looking through the barret jackson auction, there was a 1976? t bird with 70 miles on it.
Mess with that car? I think not.

I looked at that car for a friend when it was in OH, took 50+ hi-res photos..  It did see some weather in the rear, and had very very thick undercoating on the underneath..  The very nice folks who owned it then (along with about 30 Cadillacs including a couple with single and double digit mileages) let me even pull the rear seat (still had vinyl trimmings and a couple stripped screws from when they assembled it).  Even took a rear wheel off to see the original rear brake hardware in perfect condition..  As much as I love the S&H cars, this one should remain for others to see how they were put together..  I can't imagine putting miles on a car like this..  (has about 70 more miles than when I saw it).

That being said, it would look great with widened steel wheels, a rake, and a 265/295 combo on it..

What I like is seeing stuff like the markings, etc from the assembly line.

OK , what ever the owner wants.  I did e-mail the guy about the color  code as he says its burgandy ,  His reply is  that it is  2M ?  so it should be 2B right?  I did add slots to my low mile 74  ,  but it aint red .and they should look like this underneath.
