I just emailed all the manufactures that you guys listed above. I just took another look at my cars 4 speed hump and its pretty pronounced. I really don't think an automatic setup would work and still fit the form and shape of the maunal hump.

I'll post the email responses that I get back from these companies.

I think we were all referring to an automatic with a floor shift. It uses the same hump.

Ah, ok. I had no idea that they were the same. When I have seen the humps sold on ebay or other classified they always state manual/4 speed.

Thanks,

I guess I should have said I THINK they're the same. I've read that they are but have never seen the two side by side.

Yes. The floor hump was used on the floor shifted automatics and 4 speed cars.

Update.
Just got my carpet today. The carpet itself looks fantastic........ BUT...  the floor mats are totally the wrong color. On our carpets the original mats were a very dark (almost black) charcoal grey. When I ordered this one, they said that was how the mats were so I went with grey instead of black. Well.... these mats are a very LIGHT grey which looks like crap so I will be sending this back so they can send the correct one.
As I started, the carpet itself looks to be excellent quality and the padded backing is the same as factory.

Ok, I think we have about solved this debate as I'm going to be forced to try out carpet for a automatic floor shift.

I did receive some replies however from some of the companies that we listed in the thread. They went as follows;

Stockinteriors.com - They had me to send them pictures of the interior and carpet. They determined that their carpets will not fit. It was nice that these guys at least asked for pictures to verify.

Dearborn Classics - Stated that they do not carry carpet for 1972 4 speed Torino's

Autocrafters - Stated "Sorry but according to the manufatures book the carpet is for A/T and is molded to fit."

Thanks for all those that helped.

Ah, see, I assumed you had the console, where it was not going to matter.
I now vaguely recall when I got my GTS, the console was not in the car when I  unearthed it from the barn where it had sat for so many years.
What I would tell you to do-get the auto carpet, and worse case you are going to have to trim to fit.
Maybe hit up for a spare piece of the carpet, sew the borders and fit it around the hump.

Yeah, if I had a console I would definantly not care if it fit well or not. Your Idea about triming to fit and then maybe patching from a spare piece might be my only option. That, or maybe buy the nice console thats on ebay right now.
