About 2 years ago I bought C a '68 Fairlane 500 Sportsroof to have as a project car to build. We have decided to sell it, as she will be getting an older Vette later on and sees no reason for 2 collector cars (and the Vette is far nicer).
Need some input here, please: Should I just clean it up and sell it as a roller or install some pan sections and do a patch in the lower 1/4 (the only real rust areas), and a drivetrain to get it running? It was originally a 302/Automatic car, so no rare or special combo. The car has most of it's original paint (upper portion of the car is primer), very straight and the bench seat interior is complete but needing restoration. I have everything needed to get it running and the pans are cheap, but will the investment return warrant the work? Just don't especially need another project. Anyone know what the general value of these cars are bringing on the open market as a roller or a driver? Maroon with maroon interior, no A/C, no power anything. Just a basic car with nice wheels. Joe, just a quick F.Y.I.
A fiberglass car body (like a Corvette) uses a different sawzall blade than a metal car body. Cool beans on the Corvette, sorry to hear you're letting the sportsroof go. Up here, they bring a decent dollar in good shape, but are a niche car...

I'm not up on values, but I'd recommend looking at completed Ebay listings to get an idea of potential value. Personally, I'd try to get out from under it without investing any more time or money in it. Try to recoup as much of your initial investment as possible. Unless, you've got too much in it, and investing some of your time and extra parts will yield a greater return. You know how much free time you've got, and how valuable that time is. Is it worth it?

I agree with most of what Jeff said. You have so many projects anyway, just sell it as is and move on. But Ebay and Craigslist should give you an idea on value.
