1969 Torino Cobra fender emblem

   I've got a 69 Torino Cobra, and I would like to know if the Cobra snake emblem on the fenders should be facing the front of the car, or the back.On my left fender, the snake is facing the rear, on the right fender it is facing the front.Some know-it-all at work said the left  fender snake is incorrect-he should be facing the front of the car.I know this sounds trivial, but its driving me nuts.Anybody got the right answer?
