Does anyone or has anyone ever found or seen any literature or diagrams of the fairlane front sub- frame and rear frame?

FWIW the 1972 is/was body on frame

IIRC my 72 factory manual set has detailed dimensions in the Body book

Yes, I think you mean 1970-71.  It might be worthwhile to invest in the factory service manuals.  Or if you can find the old AMA specs sheets for the cars, it might have that info. I haven't found a good source for the Ford AMA papers.  GM posts them on this site:

Thanks for your help, yes the 70 fairlane that I am working on is a body on frame car. Also has a sub- frame that the front suspension and motor and transmission are cradled in. That connection is what I'm worried about.

Wow I wish ford had a sight like that. Thanks for the help and information.  I'll definitely be looking for that now.
