Hi everyone, I have a 1972 Gran Torino coupe and someone has pulled off the emblem that covered the trunk lock. Does anyone have an extra I can purchase? Thanks for any response, DaveCry

There is no post or spring. They just snapped it off.

Ok, often they get snapped off but the post stays sort of in place in the hole

The post is on the front piece ,  the back plate holds the spring , if they did just snap it off  you may find what's left of the post , no good  anymore ,  but better still the spring maybe   in the truck .

I’m always looking for broken fronts and posts and springs... I’m trying to figure out a way to consistently repair them.

You may want to check with Ecklers on what is included in their emblem kit for ~400… if it includes the trunk flipper you could sell the other stuff.

There’s also a person on EBay that sells the emblem insert for ~50.  I bought one for my sister’s car.

I saw the post above, you could then put the emblem insert on it if you went that route.

Thanks for the info. I have not removed from the trunk yet, so maybe all that is still there.

I think I will go that route because you cannot find the whole unit anywhere. Thanks

Let me know if you ever figure how to fix them, I may have some spare parts for you. Thanks
