I am trying to replace the blower motor in a 72 Grand Torino ac car. I have removed all the screws but it still don’t want to break loose. I don’t want to damage the housing. Is there something I am missing? Would appreciate any help.

as far as the blower fan housing, it can be sort of a pain.
There are six hex head screws holding the lower housing to the upper housing. Usually find it easier to pull the whole housing out of the dash to service.

On the far right, there is one screw that is a real pain to get to. Need to use a 12" extension on a ratchet or small low RPM cordless drill/ratchet.

I would disconnect the vacuum motor from the damper door.
6 hex head screws, and ground wire for the fan.
disconnect hot power lead to fan.

I leave the upper blower housing bolted to the firewall and drop the lower housing with the fan motor.

Andrew, if it isn't too much trouble, would you mind posting the manual pages that have the diagrams for the heater-only set-up that shows the blower and the ductwork layout like in the A/C version photos above? I'm trying to figure mine out so I can install the new heater core in the box and attach it to the ductwork on the dash, and also to swap the blower motor (if it needs it) before I try to hang the dash on my non-A/C 1972 Gran Torino and diagrams are really useful in figuring out what parts go where, since I wasn't the one who disassembled it originally. Thanks!
