i had my a/c working before checked my wires is there a switch to turn the a/c on and off i sent power to the a/c clutch and it worked. i was wondering if someone could tell me the location if there is a a/c switch on there tried to look it up myself but there's not much i can find about these cars

Standard location is on the selector for the air flow direction. I e. the defrost/vent selector.

Keep in mind with the 72-76 AC system, there are ambient temp switches. On the radiator support, there is a sensor that if below 40 degrees F, it will kill power to the compressor clutch circuit. The other ambient temp sensor is on one of the doors in the dash hvac system, but I'd have to pull my manuals to confirm. 72-73, 74-76 and then 77-79 had slight differences in the system, mainly the 77-79 cars got a revamped HVAC design.
