Hello,
I hauled the 351M out of my ‘75 Cougar XR-7
with an FMX and am curious as to whether
or not I need to get it shortened to properly
mate to my 460.

I have established this far that I need to find
some mounts for a 72-76 Thunderbird which
is no biggie.

Thank you for your time!

Those two engines use big block transmissions, plus if it's the same one, then it won't need a different drive shaft. The engine mounts might be the hard parts to find, you need them for a 429/460 in the mid sized 72-79 Fords.

I second what Don said.  The Big Block motor mounts were very hard to find, but I am not sure if anyone is making them now.  T-Bird mounts should work if you can find them.

Yeah, they are a needle in a haystack.
The reason I said “no biggie” is I know a guy that I sold the 429
out of a ‘72 Thunderbird parts car to and am asking him if I can
snag the mounts as he plans on putting that in a truck.
