Hello
I believe my 1.23 is going lean at top end. over 5000rpm 351w topping at about 6300rpm. This is in my factory stock stockcar. 351w cast 2bbl. intake(factory) 1.23 2100 carburetor. C-4 in second, 3.90 open rear (8.8) 3450lb. car. I have 1" wooden spacer. ![]() |

what you can do is get a spare set of jets, open the holes in the spares (find the drill bit that fits thru the ones you are currently using, go 1 size up on the spares) install and try.
When I was still using a 2 bbl, I collected a ton of them at the junkyard and mix-and-matched parts as recommended by some of the guys I knew who used to use them racing locally. Some of those guys had parts boxes more extensive than the ones for their Holleys.

maybe I'm thinking of the Rochester 2GC carb having the same threads as Holley
I think you're onto something with that, any chance of reaming the brass open even a slight amount & possibly finding an alternate larger diameter needle? the needle & seat has been the reason for multiple carbs & dual float bowls from the beginning ![]() |

Hello
Well I have another 2100 that uses the Holley jets. What is that bowl for? looks like old Holley. I read somewhere about a 4 hole needle seat set. haven't found one as of yet. I have 1963 & 1964, 2100 carbs. They are older than me. ![]() |

it's aftermarket, for Holley's, for when a single inlet just doesn't do it
here's a 2 sided slot http://www.carburetor-parts.com/Motorcraft-2100-2150-Needle-Seat_p_2876.html I'd look at taking that flow passage diameter out to the next reamer size or 3 if the needle will still seal it, and chamfer the leading edge of the brass. any chance your car is just slightly over geared? |

Are you sure it's going lean? A wideband O2 sensor would probably help a lot. I'm just starting to get into really tuning my carb and the wideband has taken the process to the next level. I highly recommend it. Even setting it at the end of the exhaust tip just to see the trends would probably be very helpful. The ignition system condition is another area to look at. Up top is where a simple points adjustment could be most noticed.
