Does anybody know if this is possible. I'd like to use the seat from my 77 4 door in a 2 door. I have a similar 2 door seat from a 74-76 to use for parts. If anybody has already done this I'd like to know what is involved.
Thanks. |

The seat will certainly bolt right up and fit. But you will run into the issue of getting your passengers into the back if the front seat will not fold forward. If it is only for a pinch go ahead if you were thinking otherwise I would say repair the correct one for your two door.

anything ~can be done~ what i'm not understanding is the part where you say you want to 'convert the fixed seat to fold'
just bolt the folding seat into the moredoor & your done... ? from way over here, i'm guessing the lower seat frames are different enough that you'd be welding pivot points & latches from one frame to the other, just to end with what you already have?

I want to convert a fixed non forward folding front seat from a 4 door LTD II to a forward folding seat. The seat then would allow a rear passenger to fold the seat forward to enter/exit the car in a 2 door model.
I have a nice seat from my 4 door, but I want to use it to replace the torn up seat in a 2 door. Edited by 72sport - 24-August-2013 at 11:03AM |

can't you just use the seat covers from the 4dr seat on the 2dr frame?
Also, I have a gray interior from a base model 79 tbird for sale. the seats are perfect.

Is the non-folding bench a solid back (one piece) or is it a flight bench with the fold-down armrest?
