to make the cooling liquid to go all the way back of the head, which helps to cool down efficiently

OK, Thanks for the info,I wont be afraid to ask any questions because this is my first rebuild. The construction work is down so I may rebuild the 429 for now.
![]() ![]() My farther looked it over and thinks it has been rebuilt within 10,000 miles ago. It has DORMANE freeze pluggs in it.

Do yourself a big favour and invest in a set of Cometic head gaskets, best product I've ever worked with and I've re-used mine 6 times so far with no leaks. Make sure you give them the correct cylinder bore if the engine has been rebuilt.

OK I ported 1 of my dove-c heads and once again my farther and freinds think I dont need bigger valves if I keep it at 429 cubes. I opened them up apx, 1/4"and have some final cleaning left. The valves are stock and are being replaced with new ones but the intake will be a victor or torker, the cam will be what you recomend with roller rockers, and the block is stock bore with the flatt top pistons. Will there be a performance increase with just porting and keeping the stock valves ?
