Hello forum.
I am trying to tune my 72 GTS for greatness. Not out of the woods yet though. The car backfired through carb….lean backfire I suspect. I have to take the carb apart again. The accelerator is not doing what it should. I think the return spring is completely missing, as the pump doesnt move basically. Now, there is supposed to be a spring on the accelerator pump? Just to be sure…. Thanks.

Ok…so, I took the carb apart. The accelerator pump spring was there, but the rubber on the end was black and hard, and slightly to big! To much friction for spring to cope! I changed to a new ‘blue’ rubber.
Now it functions as it should……..back on the car it goes….👍🤠
