9 inch in a 79 tbird? |

I have a question folks does my 79 thunderbird have a 9 inch rear end in it or is it a weird 9.5 unit I haven't seen any proof on line as mostly the lincolns have the 9 in 79 anyone actually put in 9 inch gears in there 79 to have them fit or what any advise will help

Well, my 78 Cougar was a 9". FWIW the pumpkin should interchange on the housing from the 9" to the 9.25 even if you have it, but I may be wrong. I think that goofy larger setup was only in the "big" cars. |

You should have the 9". I think only the big Lincolns had the 9 3/8 by then.. Jim |

Hello,
I agree, you should have a 9" Rear, full size Fords, Mercury's and Lincoln's had the 9 3/8" rears. |
