I'm going to put the body of my 78 LTDII on a rotisserie. Do I need any kind of supports or reinforcements inside the car, or is it solid as is? I'd prefer to not have to if it's overkill or not needed as I will be painting inside as well. But I don't want the car to buckle either.

I am not sure if anyone on here has put a 72-79 body on a rotisserie. CaliforniaJohnny might know if reinforcement would be needed or not? He's one of our most experience restoration guys.

I think it could really apply to ANY non-unibody body.

This is a pic of my body on a rotisserie that my body guy used, I don't remember him using any reinforcements. It's not setting on the lift, we were just moving it there to put it back on the frame. ![]() |

depends on what you need to do... if you're cutting out the whole floor, just keep the roof and quarters intact for rigidity
![]() ![]() if you're just doing patches and primering/painting it will be fine on a rotisserie ![]() we are doing a unibody 68 camero at work now on a rotisserie so we are replacing the full quarters first then after they are all welded in then we are cutting the full floor pan out and replacing it to keep the structural rigidity intact.... |

It does seem like one of the members had a problem with his roof buckling a little when he had it on a rotisserie, don't remember which one it was though.

I remember reading about that roof buckling, which is why I was asking.
In my case I just want to flip it on its side to paint the bottom. All the metal replacement in the floors (which is all there was) is done.
