Who has done a bench to bucket conversion?i need some answers concerning shifter wiring.

well from what i understand... there is a short wiring harness that connects the shifter wires to the NSS at the bottom of the column, or you can test wires and connect them yourself. my floor shifter had the wires cut off and the NSS was broken i used an AOD tranny so the NSS was inside the tranny so i just hard wired them into the wires from my old column

I think I have that harness and I have the floor shift column.i guess I need to know if the rest of the wiring under the dash is the same.

On the floor wiring harness, doesn't matter column or floor shifter, the harness has a wire looped that will interrupt the starting circuit. On a floor shift car that wire is plugged into the harness and ties to neutral safety switch.
On a 4 speed car, that wire is merely looped as our cars don't have a neutral safety clutch switch to prevent bump starts with the car in gear. Under dash won't matter, it's all in the floor harness. I'm sorry but I don't have any pictures for you to be able to reference at this time. |
