Hello all! Decided that I may need help with a few things on my current project....a 1972 Ford Torino 302. I was overly impressed with what I paid for this turn key car. It needs love, just like any other vehicle. I've had it for about a month, and have fixed a few things. First project was the gas tank. It was completely done, had a patch in the old tank and holes. I replaced the tank, sending unit, filler neck, fuel pump, filter and hoses. Now I have a new gremlin, engine flooded. That's what get fixed next.
I had driven it twice, after I purchased it, just to check out drivability. I did buy her without hearing her run, and when my friend and I picked it up with a trailer, she started right up. While chaining her down, We found she had newer shocks and exhaust. This ol'girl was a steal of a deal! It drives straight and amazing! Little back story that the previous owner told me... Was in high school, drove a mustang. Someone wanted his mustang, offered the Torino + cash. Took the deal 16 years ago. Only worked on diesel engines, got married and had two daughters. His wife told him to get the Torino out of the garage and sell it.....Now it sits in its new home. I washed the interior with soap and water, power washed the exterior. I've ordered the original seating to have the bench redone as it needs it. Hope you all get excited,... I am! Edited by Waterloo77 - 24-May-2021 at 3:09PM |

Welcome to the forum! You've been upgraded to have full forum privileges, so you can upload photos. I agree with Dan, sounds like a great project car. You should start up a project thread.
