Hello forum….a small problem……clutch goes down, but doesnt return…..any ideas?
If I lift the clutch pedal with my hand (or foot), it pops back up to normal position. I have not changed anything……..only greased the bushings… |

Isn't there a return spring on the pedal?

Yes, there is. But, the pedal still stays down…..
I will try the adjusting the adjuster a bit.. Strange..it worked perfectly fine before gettin’ greased…🤠

watch the action carefully push it by hand while watching under there it could be something overcentering??? there maybe a spring on the pedal and another on the clutch fork... watch for worn bushings and linkage

Definitely feels like the pedal is over-centering…….

Wrong throw-out bearing?
Weak finger springs? Wrong return-spring? Is there a pedal-stop that’s missing?

The whole setup is completely original and was working fine. The only thing I did was grease the bushings. I did this when I had the transmission out. Thats it.
I changed nothing on the tranny either…..same clutch, throwout bearing and fork(just new dust boot)
I will fidget with it some more today…….thanks for all the ideas. I will report back…👍 |

Well, then it sounds like it’s coming back out again to see what you missed.

I had a good close look at the clutch setup today. The adjuster was definitely iffy. The pin was just sliding on the threads!😵 No adjustment possible. Quite worn too. Zbar and bushings were good.I hope this was the problem….👍
