Column to floor shifter conversion

   I’ve been struggling to find a replacement shifter cable for my 76 Torino. I also think I have a bracket issue on the transmission, because I can’t get it adjusted properly to use second and low. I am considering converting to a floor shifter. Anyone else done this? What works well with still using the bench seat? Is there anything I can do to the column to remove the shift indicator and shifter mount? Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
