I'm wanting to buy a 71 ford torino but I'd like to know what issues or things to look for before I buy it. Thanks in advance

rust.  cowl, floors, torque boxes, 1/4's, trunk drop offs.

RUST! As stated, Cowl, floors, Torque Boxes, Trunk floors and drop-offs, Quarters, and rear rails where the spring shackles attach (they like to go thru into the trunk Ouch). Front spring towers rot off the inner fenders, and the control arm mounting points, and shock mounts rot away as well.
At least up here in NY, those cars seemed to come from the factory rusted out.

So as far as usual mechanical issues they don't have to many? I'll inspect the crap out of it for rust and drop my offer price accordingly. Just worried about blowing halfshaft or oil pan leaks. Stuff like that.
