 These small wheels use to be common with jewelers, model makers, pattern makers, etc. but I can't source one anywhere. Does anyone know of a source? |

I've been to ebay many times hoping one day one would show up. No luck so far. You're right that they are cool. Scale the metal to what you want to make and the results are the same to a full scale part. Without a lot of cost involved, difficult fabrications can be practiced and worked out before going to full scale. Using one also allows for getting away from breaking up body panels in to pieces that need to be welded together. Rock, thanks but no luck. The C clamp wheel has been around for a long time but they have too much spring in them. There's a fair bit work hardening that happens that doesn't translate to a full sized wheel. The process that you develop on the small wheel isn't what happens on a large wheel. A good wheel anyway. They're good for parts that are completed on a small wheel like a model maker fabricates. |
