I have a daily driver 71 Torino 500 302 2v with factory A/C. One of the PO's of my vehicle deleted vacuum parts, replumbed a bunch of the vacuum lines, and removed all of the A/C components from the firewall forward. Due to this, all I have is heat coming out of the vents, no defrost, and no fresh air vent. I've been up in there and found and stopped all the vacuum leaks, The three vacuum motors do still function, but the plumbing is wrong.
I have been slowly gathering the vacuum parts to rebuild it. I just realized last night that my Water Valve Vacuum Switch is broken, but I'm clueless as t how to get to it and replace it. I also need to adjust it's position as the Control Cam Plate doesn't actually reach far enough to make the switch (even when the cable adjuster is fully adjusted), it's like 3/8" away. I used an Endoscope to see up there. I also broke the tiny copper hose on the Deicing Switch(?) last night.
I live in the south and I at least need functional vents if not A/C. I'd like to get it all back functioning, but am wondering if I'd be better off gutting it and putting a more modern retro-fit in it's place?
Are there retrofits for factory A/C Torinos, Rancheros, Montegos?

Any help would be appreciated. Even a clear diagram of the vacuum plumbing with how it functions?

Thank in advance,

Hinmaton

Okay fine. How about a decent vacuum diagram? Something better than the one in the 71 Ford car service manual. It does a decent job showing the basic layout, but it doesn’t actually show what lines go where. It gets a little vague where it splits and goes past the firewall and where it splits up into the top area.
