My Ranchero hasn't been feeling very well the last couple of years, due to lack of attention. I had treated the fuel with stabilizer, but I guess it is only is good for a year( short term storage). The car always ran great, Last time (2 yrs. ago) I did a coolant flush, ran her around a little the 3 days I was down by were it's stored, ran great. Then the day I was getting ready to leave & come back up north I had her running (for 1/2 hr.-45 min.) in the driveway while I secured the house, packed my truck, etc. she started stumbling, running rough, I was able to get her into the garage & put away. I figured the gas started to turn, as the stabilizer was already in there a year & a half. So the next year I came down, I drained the gas out of the tank(11gal,) & put 5gal. of fresh in, but could not get her started. I didn't have much time to work on her, so she sat again 'till last week. The wife & I had to run down to Ky. where she's stored, to take care of some business. I had a little extra time this trip to check things out & found the fuel pump took a dump. No big deal. Auto Zone had one in stock, Napa had to order it
. I put it on, drained the tank again, put another 5 gals. of fresh gas in, got her fired up, runs like crap still, but runs |

Outside of Paducah, Ky.lake area. For those that don't know, Paducah is half way between Possum Trot & Monkeys Elbow Ky. Got to love the south.

Is that near Big Bone Lick State Park? (We can't make this stuff up folks.)
I'm over in Lexington, but was born in Evansville where I have a lot of family.

I used to go to Land Between The Lakes every year with a bunch of my friends. Stayed at Cedar Knob cabins. Loved that place. HATE that narrow suspension bridge when I am in a truck hauling a boat. Punch it and hope to not meet a big truck coming my way - always do, though.
I have been through 84 (supposedly the origin of 84 Lumber), and the rest of the above-mentioned towns throughout my travels. Take pictures of them all to amuse my co-workers. Seen towns named after body parts, sensual acts, mystic animals, foreign countries, vehicles, and even adjectives. Not always in the South.

Back in the day before I-24 was built, we would have to take RT.45 thru Metropolis, & cross the Ohio river in Brookport, very narrow bridge with no shoulder & mesh type decking that you could see thru. It was one of the many highlights of the 7hr. car ride for us 5 kids.

Just rec'vd the carb. Hope it works as good as it looks. (new, like it probably did,in1973. It's not paintedwith cadium rainbow paint.) It came with the bracket that holds the heater hose against the choke therm., & new air cleaner gask. which I have been missing. Very fast & hassel free transaction. I'll post pics & let you guys know how it works out, when I install it later.
