Hi, Thanks for the welcome.  I have some pictures to upload but having trouble- can I use jpg files?

Anyhow, I have a very nice (I think) 71 Torino GT Convertible.

My husband is too busy playing with other toys to make this reliable.

I put in a power brake booster but it still has 4 wheel drum brakes and does not stop well so I am wondering about putting in front disc brakes.

Also I would like to tighten up the suspension because it drives like a boat- I have a Volvo wagon with Bilstein sport suspension that I asked my mechanic to put in and I like that type of ride.

Also, when I drive for an hour, like if I go out to lunch with the girls, and park it for an hour it turns over slowly- it always starts but I needed a jump once and it makes me nervous.

I feel like I have dumped allot of questions here and once I get her (her name is Stella) more reliable and safe I will do other upgrades.  In Austin we only have the winter when we can drive with the top down- otherwise it's too hot.

I think if I can get more involved with the car my husband will have a little time to do the work- especially if I tell him what to do (as opposed to where to go :-))

Thanks, and can't wait to up load pictures and get the forum's opinion

starting thing: could be the starter (dragging-- using more amps than normal) bad connection, weak battery, bad connection at the battery???
disc brakes would be a definite improvement!!!
showing up the husband... LOLThumbs Up
