Custom meets Stock. Thats great you guys are close by each other, Im really jealous of the nice climate your in, don't you want to drive up here to Maine? 3" snow last night, Maybe next summer I'l be able to talk some northern guys into meeting here at the Motel. I see you filled your jack slots in too, Brents car loooks good , I would want it gold under the side trim , more stock.

Tell us what springs and tires/rims!
THAT IS THE LOOK!
I love a big tire that DOES NOT tuck under a fender at a stand still!

I was looking at myTorino today and was wondering when you moved the bumper in did you just remove the center filler or cut it back? Also it looks like the sides will have to be cut down as well cause if you have the moldings which you don't the end of the bumper would stick past the front of the fender moldings . did you shorten the side length on your bumper? and what kind of prep did you do to the bumper,I 'm just wondering did you just grind off the chrome in the areas that you welded and leave the rest and just wondering if you have rusty bumper should it all be ground down smooth before giving it to a chrome shop.I don't have a shop nearby and wondering how far I should take the bumper prep before giving it to a chrome shop to rechrome

It was great meeting you Gary and thanks for hard to find trim pieces! Gary's car is really awesome and he's put a lot of work into it...coolest thing is that he's the original owner. Here's a couple of pictures of the cars by themselves since the others are already posted. Too bad the one shot from the right rear is a little blurry.
The rear of my car is just stock with some air shocks. I might lower it a little and see how it looks. I haven't really had time yet to do a lot of work...just little cosmetic things and front seat upholstery. As far as the two tone color, I'd have to agree...I'd like it gold all the way down, but somewhere along the line someone put that on there and it'll do for now. Had a great drive back up to Phoenix today. I tell ya...these Torinos sure are comfortable! Just hit the cruise control and sit back! Like driving my living room! ![]() Head to Head....GTB vs GTS! lol ![]() Nice Grille and Bumper shot ![]() Rear shot from Right...little blurry ![]() Rear shot left...Gary said he had a lower, sport suspension package on the GTS. I love the photo with the montain in the background, wow it's been 17 and a half years since I saw that view last.
great photos and kewl cars.
New school VS old skool
The GTS is set up more New school and the GTB is set up like the old skool when air shocks and wide tires were popular and ofcoarse the slotted aluminum mags
very classic hotrod Brent and Gary's is looking kewl as well with the kustom mods and low stance
Two Torinos with different styles but both awesome machines Edited by 73 ProStreetTorino - 06-December-2009 at 4:43PM |

Brent I really enjoyed meeting you , I think we could have talked another 2 hours! Enjoy your GTB you have really nice car. Great having someone from the Forum in the same state. Too bad we all aren't closer together, that would be a trip now wouldn't it? Torino's terrorising Tucson lol! The guys in the Crossfire sure stopped dead in their tracks when they saw our Torinos nice change from the Usual Mustang, Chevelle, Camaro. Hahaha!!

The center filler is long gone, as is the chrome under the lamps, all part of the plan. Well my bumper didn't really have any rust issues so i didn't have to deal with that problem. (Az Car) Yes I sectioned the ends so they wouldn't extend so far back on the sides. Ground down the welds and finished it so the Chrome shop dosen't have alot to do except the Chemical trip. The reinforcement has been lightened quite a bit and the absorbers are nothing more than mounting brackets now.

thanks for the details I figure the sides would have to be cut down just wasn't sure if you still had the center filler.I want to see about tucking the rear bumper tighter as well.since both bumpers need rechroming might as well do a little customizing Edited by 73 ProStreetTorino - 07-December-2009 at 11:49PM |

Unknown Torino in Gilbert Arizona (Suburb of Phoenix). My Friend John saw this '73 S & H and sent me this picture. Looks pretty clean. Anyone know this car or it's owner? How about you Gary...ever seen it? I'm surprised I haven't after driving around this area for 7 years. Maybe it's new to the area.
BTW, Only 22 more days in Florida and I head home...can't wait to drive my GTB again! ![]() |

Nice meeting you too Jeff...and a breakfast run sounds good Gary.
Haven't seen a single Torino in Florida yet. Still got 3 weeks and thinking of driving up to Raleigh to see some old friends one of the weekends I have left. There has been this one old car in a lot I've been passing on my way to work that I'm gonna stop by and take a picture of today. It looks like an interesting one. I'll post the pic here tonight when I get back "Room". Anyone on the forum live Near Raleigh or Goldsboro NC? Or right off 95 between Jacksonville and Raleigh? It's actually y'all. And if you're talking about more than one person, typically a group of people, the term is "all y'all"
If you are from up north, the correct term is "you's" singular or "you's guys" plural. "You's guys's" may be used as plural possessive, but it's considered tacky and won't pass spell check. "You'ns" is not an actual word. Don't you's guys be using that, y'hear? |
