Hello everyone, it's me nick again. I am having a LOT of trouble finding a shifter cable for my car. I have been on the look for a shifter cable for a 73 gran torino sport COLUMN SHIFT.  I can't find anyone who has one, any shops who can/will rebuild mine, or other cars that share the same cable.

My old cable is frozen solid. After soaking in oil for a few months, it freed up by pretty much nothing at all so it's toast. Anyone know where I can find one? If I remember, I'll take pictures and measurements of it tomorrow.  The part number is still visable but I have to look at it again. Any help appreciated, thank you.

-Nick

Sounds frustrating. Can't help with a replacement. But just in case it's rust that's keeping it from moving, soaking it in a tub or rust remover could help. The stuff works well, and should get into the jacket to the cable.

I'll try that, I have some rust remover but just have to find a big enough container. Thanks for the tip!

Some of us have used it for things like rusty tail light sockets and such, hope it works for you.
