Hi, I'm glad to have been introduced to this site. I am the proud owner a 1973 GTS. I factory ordered this car in mid 1972 and picked it up from the local dealer when it was delivered in Dec. 1972. Unfortunately I was young, dumb, and a little wild and didn't take as good of care of the vehicle as I should have. Like they say hind site is 20/20. I ordered it with the Rally Sport package so it was a really nice car. I hope to restore the car but it has been sitting outside for nearly 40 years and is going to be quite the project. I have been surprised at the lack of replacement parts availability, it seems that parts are practically non-existent. Does anyone have a good connection where body parts, floor pans, and interior parts can be found. I've seen some patch panel floor pans but I would like a little more than what I've seen. If anyone has suggestions or recommendations I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks, Mike

Hi Mike, welcome to the forum. I think the Mustang floor pans seem to be the best replacement for the mid sized Fords. Those are the 1971-73 big body models. Some parts are obsolete, but with some time and patience you should be able to find most parts. Make a list and begin to search around on eBay or here, try to document any part numbers you see, those help a lot to find any NOS or just what people use for descriptions.

Welcome Mike!  You've been upgraded to a new member and have full forum privileges.

Parts are harder to find for 1972-76 Torinos, but we have a good network here to help with used parts. Like Don says, Mustang floor pans are typically the best bet.  We have a thread on them here:

The other option is finding good floor pans from a rust free donor.  Interior parts often have to be sourced used, but some are available through aftermarket suppliers like Auto Krafters, or Macs.

Thank you 72 RS 351. That helps to know which model year Mustang floor pans will work. I read somewhere that mustang floor pans could be used but the article did not state which year models could be used. I also read that when using Mustang floor pans for the Torino that modifications have to be made for the seat mounts. Do you know if this is the case? Thanks

Thanks 72FordGTS (Vince) for the upgrade and for the link on the floor pans, I haven't been to the link yet but I will in just a few minutes. I'm sure it will be full of info. Thank you and all others for making this site available. I suspect that I will be a frequent visitor here, it certainly has a lot of useful info and a lot of interesting projects. I have really enjoyed looking at some of the projects.

Welcome to the Forum.  If I come across any 1973 parts I'll let you know. Post pics as you go. We like our pictures.
