Hello fellow Torino People.I bought one of my Bucket List cars last year...a Gran Torino Sport. This one is a 73 flavor with a 351 C. Quick back story, it sat in a barn for 32 years in south Carolina, was sold to a guy at Carlisle that has a classic car dealership in New York, he posted it on eBay and I won the auction. I saw the car on Barn Finds... which had the ebay link, and when I saw it, it had 12 minutes left. I put in my bid... and it's mine. There's more to the story, but that's the basics. By the way. It does run and drive, but not well enough to trust it outside my neighborhood yet. I started doing little things to it, like getting the lights working. You'd think that a car with only 56 thousand miles on it wouldn't have an issue like that, but it does. I gave the car a tune up, and it runs pretty OK, but the carb needs help. I have most of what I need to put fuel injection on it, but the thing I don't have is the right sending unit that has a return line fitting. I've never rebuilt a carb, or I would have done that already. Also, I drive a truck over the road, so my time with it is limited. Some of the things I need if anyone has laying around. Front side marker light housing (the rectangular Amber ones). I'd like a front bench with armrests (I think that's called the flight bench seat?). It was also converted from a 2V to a 4V (they even switched the heads!), but they didn't put any kind of kick down linkage on it, so I need that. It has the styled steel wheels that you would find on 67-69 Torinos and Mustangs, and I really don't like the way they look. I have been struggling to find out what wheel and tire combo will fit on it. The really tricky part for me is the whole backspacing thing. There are A LOT of opinions on that, as well as options. I'm pretty set on having raised white letters, so that pretty much limits me to a 15 inch tire. Anyway, I've rambled on enough. Me and my car need friends...lol.

Welcome Jim! Congratulations on the new '73 GTS! What carb do you have on the car now? A new carb is a lot cheaper than a EFI system and they aren't that hard to tune, depending on which you choose. Post a want ad in the classified and I am sure some of the member can help you out with the parts. We have several good threads on wheels and tire combos, but a favourite option is the classic Magnum 500. Depending on the size of wheel and tire you want, we can help you out with the backspacing. I have upgraded you to a new member. Feel free to post some pics, start a project thread and post any questions you have in a new thread.

Thank you for the upgrade. Thanks for the welcome. The carb on it is a Holley, but I don't know which one because I haven't really looked at it yet. My Jeep Grand Wagoneer also has a Holley. And I have an Edelbrock that needs rebuilt as well. The fuel injection is is because my brother in law gave my most of a FiTech system that came off one of his projects. All I really had to buy was a pump and install kit. I'm not sure if I'm going to go that route yet... but I have what I need except for the fuel return.
I'll look at the threads you sent and try to get a picture or two uploaded.

Well, I'm going to have to go through the picture upload instructions again. I'm clearly doing something wrong because when I try to preview the post before actually posting it, it says there is an error of some sort. I'll get it figured out.

I think I figured out the picture thing. The tree icon with the arrow is not on my menu. Had it been changed? I'm trying to upload from my phone.

When I get home, I'll take better pictures. Am I allowed to put a link to the Barn Finds article in this forum?

No rule against posting any links like that on the forum. Post away.
