I need to remove the back seat, back rest, and package tray to work on some of the trim panels that I'm restoring. Any tips on the removal process would be greatly appreciated.

The back seat bottom cushion comes out easy. You push with your hands on the front edge of the cushion, and push towards the back of the car, like you're trying to stuff the seat back into the trunk. Then lift after you feel it pass the catches. Then it just pulls out towards the front of the car. You will then see a bolt on each side below the back seat back cushion. They will be small bolt heads and they are adjacent to the seat belt mounts. Take these two bolt out. Then lift STRAIGHT UP on the back cushion and the seat will come loose and you can pull it out. To remove the package shelf, there are two clips that hold the shelf in place, remove the bolts on these clips and set them and the clips aside. The package shelf will slide out towards the front of the car.

Installation is the reverse of removal and you'll easily figure out how to get everything lined up once you see the way it comes out.

These instructions are good for damn near any car's back seat as long as the seats don't fold down or flip up like in a wagon or SUV.

One of the first things I noticed when I bought my car was the fact that if I accidently dropped my keys into the trunk and then absent mindedly slammed it shut, I'd be in big trouble. Makes me think I should have a hida-key just for that.

By the way, thanks for that answer Occ. it will come in handy when I'm ready to re cover the rear seat. You are the Octor of Torinos.
