Took the dash apart today and I found this. What is that red wire? The whole thing looks a bit shabby and board is separated in one place. Thinking of replacing the board and the regulator. Thoughts?

Looks like a jumper wire someone added, possibly to complete a circuit on the board that was no good. Definitely not 'factory'

None of the gauge lights work so I am going to replace the board and regulator. Why is the cold temp warning light blacked out? Also, there is a "belts" warning light but no bulb connection to board. Sorry, I'm going through a learning curve here. Can't find the answers in the manual.

gauge lights, have you tried replacing the bulbs? slightly unlikely but it is possible they're all burned out? cold temp warning light? that empty socket with no traces for contact would use a pigtailed socket that plugs into a harness

The 'cold' light was only used in 68 from what I understand. It would have used a 2 prong sender and appropriate wiring for it to work. My 69 GT has the slot, but no bulb (and single prong sender). The Belts light was an option that came with Deluxe belts. Listed on the sticker/Marti if it was ordered. My GT has this light. The bulb/socket is hard wired into the dash harness and the whole socket plugs into a hole in the back of instrument panel housing. It's will light for about 5 seconds after you start the car and then goes off and it's not fed power from circuit board.

Agreed. I checked all bulbs and sockets. I found corrosion and worn contacts. I bought a 194 10 pack from Napa. Also carefully cleaned all socket contacts. Reinstalled and all lights work. Still, I will be replacing all sockets. They are for sale on line. Any that are better than others?
