Hi,
My brake booster I think is on its way out (1976 Elite)
I can't get a new one, as they appear unavailable, and no one will rebuild it here in the UK.
Harman have a rebuild kit, but it will be a little over £300 total by the time it arrives.
Rock auto have boosters for a 77 f250 (delivered for £146) with the only difference appearing to be the back half of the booster and the pedal rod.
So......I was considering transferring the new internals over to my booster and rod.
Does anyone have any better ideas, or experience with this?
Thanks,
Iain.

I am not sure about the F250 unit.  It could work.  Would you be open to sending it to the States for a rebuild?  There are several places that forum members have used to have it rebuilt.  Maybe someone on the forum might have a good used one they can send you.  Try californiajohnny.

Go back to Rock Auto website and find the parts request link. I think it’s part of the actual parts listing . I was looking for the exact part you’re looking for just 8 -9 months ago . I filled out the form figuring it was a waste of time and I would never hear a word from them , but only a few weeks later I got an email saying the part was available!!
Their inventory does change and they are on top of what they have . I couldn’t believe it when I got the email, but I have the booster on my work bench , all painted up , waiting for some non sub zero weather to change it out .
Or send your old one over here to Booster Dewey for a rebuild .

As pyntre stated above Booster Dewey (Power Brake Booster Exchange).I used them and am completely satisfied with their work.  They are in Lynwood Washington phone 503-238-8882.

Thanks for the replies. I've done the notify me thing on Rock auto for now.
Sending mine to the US, or buying a kit from the US just ends up being a small fortune from the places I've enquired at.
You guys have it good for parts prices!
