Hi. While driving fast enough and there is enough rain/water(The wipers slides easier), the left wiper is smashing against the A-pillar at each stroke. Today the wiper linkage was removed and I didnt find any reason for the smashing/slack in the linkage, the bushings and critical parts looked and felt ok. My plan was to make a video out of it, but I didnt get so far. Any idea what the reason can be? Maybe its a typical reason/problem for these cars

Here are som photos of the linkage and wiper arms

Can't you just re-index the wiper arm onto the LH wiper's splined arbor to change it's full stroke position as it pertains to the A-pillar or am I missing something?

Maybe some missing info from me: Both the wipers go down in the lower rest position when turning off the wipers. The left wiper can be moved a few degrees (4-5 inches) without moving the right wiper. When the windshield is more dry, the left wiper moves as it should, without hitting the A-pillar. So repositioning the left wiper is not the right thing to do as I see it, it will not move its full length/area of the windshield

It could be a few issues causing the conditions you speak of: 1) The spline mesh between the wiper arm and wiper arm arbor is fairly loose/wore out. 2) The bushings on the linkage that attaches to the LH arbor has slop in it(read wore out as well). 3) Make sure the LH arbor's attaching screws/bolts are tight to the cowl. If you have 4-5 inches of movement before the other wiper moves, something is definitely worn/wore out. I would double check the wiper linkage and the arbors.
