Saw this one pop up on the FB group.  The owner says it was his father's car bought brand new and he has owned if for about 30 years.  He is thinking of selling.

It looks to be a clean car and he claims it is mostly original.  I do see some aftermarket parts like valve covers, a non-stock fuel line, distributor and coil (MSD?).  The cold air intake was not used on 1972's either.  It appears to have been painted at some point and is missing the wheel lip moldings (if the car was an original laser stripe car).  The dash pad is recovered and the seat covers look like repops with the simulated comfort weave. It has a ram air hood scoop but no word on if it's original to the car, or even if it is an original Ford unit or repop.

He also says the engine and transmission have less than 10,000 since the rebuild. It has new suspension brakes and seals. Aldridge Motorsports in Portland Oregon did much of the work.

It may not be perfect, but is very nice and it looks like it wouldn't take much to get this one to a concours car.  A one family owned car with a Q-Code and a 4-speed is a very rare find.

No word on a price, but I am thinking north of $50K.  We will see if it ends up on BAT.  The car is in Brookings, Oregon.

The door tag decodes as follows:

63R - SportsRoof
5H - Medium Brown Metallic
MF - Knitted Vinyl Bucket Seats in Ginger
Trans - 4-speed (5-code)
Axle - 3.50 open (A code)

Did this 1972 Gran Torino sale? I am new to the group so forgive my ignorance, what does "BAT" stand for? I read this phrase, "We will see if it ends up on BAT."

Welcome. The BAT is a website(https://bringatrailer.com/auctions/) that auctions off a lot of high end cars. It's generally selling really nice cars, people think of it as the best market to get the highest price for your nice vehicle. They have been selling some cars lately with some questionable quality though, so their standards seem to be lower than they were.

The car might still be for sale, you'd have to contact the seller.  This is the link to the group post, but you may not be able to see it unless you are part of the Facebook group:

Here is a link to the sellers Facebook profile.  You could try to message him directly to ask about the car:
