Hello,

I have one question .Is there an AM/FM radio 8 track option for ’73 Montego?I saw in the list of ’73 Montego options on your site that there was AM/FM stereo, but was it 8 track, too?I have ’73 Montego MX wagon(with 351C and FMX) and I would like to put the original ’73 Mercury 8 track(mine is missing the radio),but I don’t know if the faceplate is the same.Radios and radios with 8 track player are the same for ’73 full size Mercury and for Montego, right?

   Thank you very much.

Regards,

Boris

I can not find where an 8T was available on 73 Torino or Montego. It does show up in 74:

AM FM Stereo w/ 8 Track         $363.20

So if the radio will fit in there, use it (sometimes there are differences between full-size and mid-size components). If you are going for a factory appearance that is correct, find an AM/FM Stereo. They were more or less identical 73-76 on mid-size. I do not know what they looked like on full-size.

Hope that helps!

I      I installed an 8-track from a later 76 Ford in my 73 Torino the only interference was at the top wher the button is I believe it was the eject button, I notched the dash and it worked fine. Gary

Thank you very much guys for the replies.

I will stick to the original options even if I would really like an 8 track, but I will look for AM/FM Stereo Radio for my '73 Montego.I don't want to make any modifications on the dash.

Regards,

Boris
