Hi
Does anyone know if the bucket seats in a 72 torino sport are the same in any other cars? I saw a 72 or 73 cougar in the junkyard today that had buckets that looked like the 72 torino. I need a drivers side seat for my 72 torino. Thanks

The direct bolt in seats you need will come out of a 72-73 Torino/ranchero/Montego. If you don't mind a slight style change away from highback bucket and are willing to buy two seats. the 74-79 cougar/ranchero, 74-76 torino/montego/elite will work as well as the 77-79 LTD II and T-bird.

I don't want a style change. I am looking for a direct bolt in. I am recovering the seats so the pattern is not a concern. I just need the same frame. The cougar seats looked almost identical to the torino seats, pattern also.

I have a pair of high backs that I would sell together.I believe tracks are needed for them but I would have to check on that. |

Helpful question?...
Do the high back buckets recline? I have a set stored in the 72 GTS at the farm and wondering if they are worth re-upholstering. NOT if they don't recline though. |

My set does not recline,I don't think any of this style did,not that you couldn't make it happen.

Let me get this straight. The 72 style buckets were only available in the 72-73 Torino/Ranchero and Montego? 74 and up the style changed correct? Sorry about all the questions guys. just trying to make sure I find the correct parts.
Thanks

'72 had the comfort weave material. That was dropped in '73
