Anyone know what the best alternative to OEM Core support bushings are for a 72? Is there anyone out there that makes something close? I need the bushings and hardware.
Thanks |

I bought a boat trailer rubber roller and plan to cut it down to height. But there are universal ones that work. And also there's a good chat somewhere on the forum about body mount bushings where I think some guys talk about the core support options they went with.

Thats a idea. I have read alot of the discussions. Im looking for specific 72 style. I have read that 74 and up were different. Just thought maybe someone had gone through this and found a close plug and play option. Car is in the shop now and bodyshop is looking to start reassembly today. They are pretty good and can make something up but just thinking if i can save them time on fabrication it would help them and me. Lol. Shop ordered 08 CV bushings they think will be a close start or they can use some of the hardware to make them.

We have lot of old threads on this, including this sticky: Many have used # 9.4102R . You will see CJ's pics of them partway down the above post. They are also available in black as part #9.4102G. I used the black ones on my '72 and they work with no mods required. Of course depending on how many shims were used on your rad support you might need to make some minor tweaks. |

I got the Crown Vic bushing set which included two different bushings that I used for the core support on my 73. I combined them with the Ford stock shims to get to the stock height, they seem to be working fine. I can't verify if the 72 core support mounts the same as 73, possibly another member has that info.

Ok thanks. I need everything. There was no hardware to try to duplicate. Thanks for the pictures and response.

Here are some pics of the Energy bushings that I used on my '72. I did have to trim the one bushing that sits on top of the frame, but other than that they worked perfectly. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Thanks guys. This was a big help. Stopped by the shop today and they made some bushings from CV parts and it worked out perfectly. Thanks for the help.
